Divot Board Original vs MINI: Which One Fits Your Practice?
Choose the Original Divot Board for a dedicated practice position, fuller iron swings, and the option to build a 4-by-5-foot turf station. Choose the Divot Board MINI for chips, wedges, shorter irons, travel, and compact practice spaces.
Ready to choose? Original Divot Board, $99.99 for a regular iron practice position, or MINI, $59.99 for chips, wedges and shorter irons. Prices checked October 27, 2026, before shipping and tax.
Both use a resettable surface to show where the club contacted the ground and the direction it moved through the strike area. The main difference is how and where you intend to practice.

Why the Original is longer and narrower
The Original provides more length along the swing path. That is useful when the club may contact the surface across a wider front-to-back area during fuller practice swings. Its narrow format creates a defined strike lane.
It is the logical starting point if you plan to keep the trainer in one practice area or add a larger stance-and-hitting surface later.
Why the MINI is shorter and wider
The MINI trades strike-path length for a compact footprint intended for short-game work and portability. The manufacturer positions it for chipping, wedges, and short irons rather than as the first choice for full swings with every club.
It can be easier to store and carry, but compact does not mean clearance-free. You still need a safe swing area and proper ball containment whenever you hit a ball.
Which should a beginner choose?
Choose according to the practice you will actually complete:
- Pick the MINI if you will practice chips and shorter swings in a small area or carry it between locations.
- Pick the Original if you have a regular practice position and want to progress into fuller iron swings.
- Pick the Starter Bundle if you want the Original plus a replacement pad from the beginning.
- Pick the Complete Home Range if you want the Original set into a 4-by-5-foot turf mat.

Choose the correct accessories
Original and MINI parts are model-specific. Do not order by appearance alone.
For hard, flat surfaces, choose the matching grip pad. For a worn feedback surface, choose the matching replacement pad. If you own an older board and do not know which attachment system it uses, confirm compatibility before ordering.
What neither model tells you
Neither model measures ball flight, speed, spin, carry, club-face angle, or body motion. The visible trace helps you identify a repeated contact pattern, but it does not prove why the pattern occurred. A qualified instructor can connect the feedback to an appropriate swing change.
For a structured way to use either size, follow the low-point practice plan.
